Major Bowen, CPP

Major has worked at Cultivating New Frontiers in Agriculture (CNFA) for over 10 years and holds the position as Associate VP, Security & Operations.  Prior to joining CNFA, Major worked in South Sudan, Nigeria, and Kenya with the Department of State as a lead operations officer with a focus on countering violent extremism (CVE) and political violence. He started in the international development field at RTI International where he worked in Iraq on a local governance program as a regional operations officer and regional team leader as well as training U.S. government and military personnel on Iraq local governance and civ-mil coordination. He retired from the U.S. Army having served in the active and reserve components and participated in operations in Panama, Desert Shield/Storm, Kosovo, Iraq, and Horn of Africa. He has his CPP and is a NREMT. Bowen holds a Master of Public Administration from North Carolina State University, a graduate certificate from the Naval Postgraduate School in Stability, Security, and Development in Complex Operations, and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Appalachian State University.
